I live in sunny Southend, have 2 children and one of my joys in life is roller skating. When I broke my ankle I had to take time off work and couldn’t do even the simplest of things, let alone skate.

I have never been good at sitting still and I found it so tough! I needed something to keep me busy and thought macrame looked fairly simple… I was sorely mistaken! I ended up surrounded by pins, threads, scissors, notes and a tangled mess of strings more than once!

A year later and I wouldn’t have believed how much I enjoy it. I love watching a piece come together, and learning new patterns and techniques. I’m not very good at ‘sitting down and stopping’ but find macrame calming and relaxing. I love that I can make something that brings someone else a little bit of joy 🌹🌹
